Once in a while you meet someone who inspires you to make a change or develop your own skills. I had the pleasure of meeting Lauriely from Loll Doll Makeup in Airlie beach in August 2015 when she was booked by Villa Botanica to do my wedding makeup. Being a beautician myself I was a little nervous having someone else do my makeup, but was pleasantly surprised on the day of my makeup trial to meet Lauriely as she was so friendly and knew exactly what she was doing. She knew the exact look that I was after and what would suit me best for my special day. Needless to say my wedding makeup was beautiful and flawless. Lauriely has an amazing talent with makeup, the right colours to use, expert application and a personality that puts you at ease. It was the first time I had ever had airbrush makeup applied so naturally I was a little excited about the prospect. And I can honestly say I was not disappointed. Airbrush makeup is so fine and light yet has an amazing coverage that makes you feel like model material. Consequently, as the result of my beautiful makeup, I decided that I would love to learn airbrushing and expand my makeup knowledge. During my time with Lauriely in August she told me that she runs makeup and airbrushing courses, which I thought was fantastic! I booked a full training day with Lauriely in April this year up in Airlie Beach and it was amazing. It was a one-on-one training day where I learned all about airbrushing, contouring, highlighting, face and eye shapes, colour theory and application. The knowledge I gained from that training day is invaluable. I came away feeling more confident in makeup application, and have even bought my own airbrush system. I, of course like everyone else, have spent many hours watching YouTube videos and Pinterest tutorials but they don’t come close to comparing with the face to face training I received that day. So a huge big thank you to Lauriely for the time she spent with me and for everything I learned. She has given me a new direction for my future in the beauty industry.
